Foundation Program

Free Introduction to Foundation Program with Gen Kelsang Chöma ~ Monday, August 20, 7:00 – 9:00pm

For those of you who wish to go deeper in your studies, this is the perfect opportunity for you! A new Foundation Program will start on August 20th and will study Meaningful to Behold, Becoming a Friend of the World by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. If you decide you would like to try out the Foundation Program, we offer a two-week trial period at the end of which you can commit to the program if you wish. Foundation Program meets both Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7:00 – 9:00pm.

The Foundation Program is a tried and tested program that has helped many thousands of people around the world.

It provides an opportunity to deepen our understanding and experience of Buddhism through a systematic study of six texts:

  1. Joyful Path of Good Fortune - A commentary to Atisha's Lamrim instructions, The Stages of the Path to Enlightenment
  2. Universal Compassion - A commentary to Bodhisattva Chekhawa's Training the Mind in Seven Points
  3. Heart of Wisdom - A commentary to the Heart Sutra
  4. Meaningful to Behold - A commentary to Shantideva's Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life
  5. Understanding the Mind - A detailed explanation of the mind, based on the works of the Buddhist scholars Dharmakirti and Dignaga.
  6. Eight Steps to Happiness - A commentary to Eight Verses of Training the Mind, composed by the great Tibetan Bodhisattva, Langri Tangpa.

class Foundation Program classes are available at Saraha Kadampa Buddhist Center and Mahakaruna Center.

Foundation Program classes are held at the Saraha Kadampa Buddhist Center on Mondays and Wednesdays, 7:00-9:00PM, and are taught by our Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Chöma.
