Free Introduction to Foundation Program with Gen Kelsang Chöma ~ Monday, August 20, 7:00 – 9:00pm
For those of you who wish to go deeper in your studies, this is the
perfect opportunity for you! A new Foundation Program will start on
August 20th and will study Meaningful to Behold, Becoming a Friend of the World
by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. If you decide you would like to try out the
Foundation Program, we offer a two-week trial period at the end of which
you can commit to the program if you wish. Foundation Program meets
both Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7:00 – 9:00pm. The Foundation Program is a tried and tested program that has helped many thousands of people around the world.
It provides an opportunity to deepen our understanding and experience of Buddhism through a systematic study of six texts: - Joyful Path of Good Fortune - A commentary to Atisha's Lamrim instructions, The Stages of the Path to Enlightenment
- Universal Compassion - A commentary to Bodhisattva Chekhawa's Training the Mind in Seven Points
- Heart of Wisdom - A commentary to the Heart Sutra
- Meaningful to Behold - A commentary to Shantideva's Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life
- Understanding the Mind - A detailed explanation of the mind, based on the works of the Buddhist scholars Dharmakirti and Dignaga.
- Eight Steps to Happiness - A commentary to Eight Verses of Training the Mind, composed by the great Tibetan Bodhisattva, Langri Tangpa.
